Frequently Asked Questions

Are your products actually handmade?

Yes, we want to honor and preserve the role of craftsmen/women, artists and makers and craft each piece by hand. When you purchase a Shakti Silver bracelet you are directly supporting the individual artists and small family business.

Why are no two bracelets exactly the same?

When handcrafting silver it is very challenging to create exact replicas, but we try as best we can to keep the weights and widths similar. Listed weights are not exact, but averages and will be very close to the description. We see this as a benefit as each piece truly is a unique work of art.

Will my silver bracelets get scratched?

Yes, silver its possible. Silver is considered a relatively soft metal and like all other silver jewelry will show some wear. This does not actually degrade the brightness of the silver and scratches due to regular wear can easily be buffed or polished out.

How do I care for my bracelets?

We work with 2 kinds of silver, pure silver .999% silver and Argentium silver which is an alloy containing germanium and copper. Pure silver can be polished with silver polish as can Argentium silver. There are some slightly abrasive creams that can be purchased to remove soft scratching or liquids to remove any patina (tarnish) that may occur. Pure silver develops a lovely patina and not a dark tarnish like Sterling silver.

Argentium silver does really well with simply it with soap and water and then towel dry. We recommended this after each wear. Argentium silver is 7x more tarnish resistant than Sterling silver.  Read more here in our blog!

Are your Continuous Cuff bracelets easy to get on and off?

Yes! we say that it takes "just s slip and a twist onto the wrist!" Continuous Cuffs are made with Argentium silver which is then heat treated to make them more durable and flexible, they goes right back to its original shape.
